The Artists

Mathieu Lauffray is a French illustrator, cartoonist and concept artist. Passionate about drawing at a young age, he became a very good specialist in American comic books of the golden age (50s, 60s and 70s), which allowed him to acquire an impressive visual culture. After his baccalaureate, he joined the Arts Deco in Paris. His study project (a comic book) will be published by Delcourt: The Shadow Oath. Devoted to illustration, he joined Olivier Vatine Dark House Comics who published adaptations of Star Wars in comics. Lauffray will design for them the covers of these editions for 3 years (about thirty covers in all). He also works for a time on graphic designs for video games but finds the activity too ephemeral in its cultural impact.
