Mario Foccillo
Mario Foccillo is an illustrator, cover and interiors comics artist, born in Salerno in 1991.
From an early age, he was fascinated by the world of art and drawing and began pursuing his passion as a self-taught artist. Classical Italian art was among his very first influences, with particular reference to the Renaissance and Baroque, which would have been a constant source of inspiration throughout his career. His passion for the representation of the human body intertwined with his love for superheroes, giving life to artworks that reflect a balance between tradition and contemporary pop culture.
In 2021 he gets noticed by DC, and makes his official debut in the comics industry as a cover artist, drawing his first cover for the Superman series, a milestone that marked the beginning of a long-lasting collaboration between him and this major publisher.
Mario’s illustrations began to appear on the covers of DC's most iconic series and main crossover events. His work includes art for titles such as "Batman vs. Robin", "Batman/Superman: World's Finest", "Nightwing", "Robin" and "Superman", "Action Comics", "Green Lantern", "Black Adam", the reboot of Aquaman on the DC ALL-IN 2025 series, as well as crossover events such as "Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths", "Lazarus Planet" and "Knight Terrors".
In 2022, famous pop culture website "Screenrant" dedicated an article to Mario’s artwork, naming his cover for the comic “Batman/Superman World's Finest” #9 the best one to ever appear in the series.
In 2023, he made his debut as an interiors comic artist, drawing the pages of the DC event “Knight Terrors: Green Lantern.”
Alongside his career in comics, Mario also stands out as an illustrator for the entertainment industry. He collaborates with Singapore’s ONE Championship, the largest combat sports holding in the world, creating promo art for the MMA world titles, broadcasted on Amazon Prime USA. At the same time, he works with STN Digital, San Diego’s a leading company in the field of social media and promotion, contributing, with his art, to communication campaigns for sporting events such as the NFL and the WNBA.
Today, Mario carries on his artistic production for DC Comics, establishing himself as a brand new promising voice in the contemporary comics and illustration scene.
