Kevin Nowlan

Kevin Nowlan was born in Nebraska, the youngest of six. He's lived in central Kansas since 1968. His first published work in comics was pencilling a Doctor Strange fill-in at Marvel. After that he drew a few issues of Moon Knight, Grimwood's Daughter, The Outsiders Annual, a New Mutants fill-in, The Secret Origin of Man-Bat, Batman Black and White and various covers for Marvel and DC.

He co-created Jack B. Quick, Boy Inventor with legendary writer Alan Moore, for a series of award winning short stories.

Nowlan has also worked as an inker or a "finisher over layouts" on several projects; Batman: The Sword of Azrael, Superman Vs Aliens and Superman: The Last Days of Lex Luthor. He briefly had a second career as a logo designer and letterer, creating the logo and lettering for Moonshadow, logos for the Punisher, Doctor Strange, and assisting on Mike Mignola's Hellboy logo design.

With few exceptions, his best work emerges when he's given the freedom to pencil, ink, color and letter his own work.
